Introduction
Every time I visit Seoul, I find myself reaching for my camera almost nonstop. There’s something special about the city that makes every corner feel worth capturing. It effortlessly blends modern sophistication and gleaming skyscrapers with a rich sense of history that stretches back centuries. From traditional palaces and hanok villages to vibrant streets and futuristic landmarks, Seoul offers endless inspiration for photographers and travelers alike.
In this post, I’m sharing a collection of photos from my latest trip, along with the locations where you can find and capture them for yourself. I hope it inspires your own adventure through one of Asia’s most photogenic cities. Enjoy!
1. N Seoul Tower from Myeongdong

The city’s gleaming skyscrapers provide a stunning backdrop for N Seoul Tower, which soars above Seoul from the top of Namsan Park and can be seen from nearly every corner of the city. You can’t miss this view if you’re in Myeongdong! Make your way to the Woori Bank office, and you’ll find this spot soon enough!
2. Up high at Namsan Park

If you’re making the climb up to N Seoul Tower, or simply enjoying the easier walk back down, don’t miss this viewpoint along the way. Perched halfway up the route, it offers one of the most breathtaking panoramas of Seoul!
3. The backstreets of Hongdae

No visit to Seoul is complete without exploring this vibrant and fashionable neighborhood. Its maze of backstreets is packed with unique photo opportunities, while the abundance of cozy cafés makes it the perfect place to pause, recharge, and soak up the atmosphere.
4. The alleyways of Ikseondong
Just north of Myeongdong, you’ll find a charming labyrinth of alleyways filled with colorful umbrellas, inviting cafés, boutique shops, and local restaurants. Tucked away from the busy city streets, this picturesque area is the perfect place to slow down, explore, and snap a few photos.

5. After dark at Cheonggyecheon

Running through the heart of Seoul, this park offers a refreshing slice of nature amid the city’s concrete jungle. The gently flowing stream provides a peaceful escape from the surrounding traffic and urban bustle. Visit in the evening when the illuminated walkways and reflections on the water make this spot truly come alive.
6. Take a ride on the Metro

Okay, this one is a bit of a cheat, as it’s not a specific location, but it’s impossible to talk about photography in Seoul without mentioning the city’s sprawling and incredibly efficient subway network. As you travel between attractions, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to capture everyday life, striking station architecture, and the unique atmosphere of one of the world’s busiest transit systems. Sometimes the journey itself can be just as photogenic as the destination.
7. Reflecting at Gyeongbokgung Palace

No trip to Seoul is complete without visiting the city’s magnificent royal palaces, with Gyeongbokgung Palace being one of the most impressive. One of the highlights is the serene pond, which provides a stunning glimpse into Seoul’s past and creates a picture-perfect setting. This was easily one of my favorite photo spots during my trip and a view I won’t soon forget.
8. Get lost in Buckon Hanok Village

The postcard perfect image of Seoul, Bukchon Hanok Village is a must visit for any photographer. While its winding streets and steep hills can be more challenging to explore than they first appear, the effort is well worth it. This traditional neighborhood, with its beautifully preserved hanok houses and stunning city views, offers some of the most iconic scenery in Seoul.
9. A Walk down Samcheong-dong Street

Tick this popular street off your list as you make your way down from Bukchon Hanok Village. Lined with a variety of shops, cafés, and restaurants, this charming tree lined boulevard is surprisingly photogenic. Whether you’re capturing the seasonal foliage, browsing the local boutiques, or simply soaking up the atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to slow down and enjoy a different side of Seoul.
10. This sign in Seoul Plaza

Make your way to Seoul Plaza, right next to City Hall, and you’ll find one of the city’s most recognizable photo spots: the I SEOUL U sign. Popular with visitors from around the world, it’s the perfect place to snap a fun souvenir photo and commemorate your time in South Korea’s capital. After all, what better way to capture the memories of your trip than with a photo in front of one of Seoul’s most iconic landmarks?
